Rounds 22-24 of the 2019 BTCC took place this weekend across the border at Knockhill where the Team Shredded Wheat Racing with Gallagher team started the weekend in high spirits.

Last time out at Knockhill's 1.27-mile circuit in 2018, Team Shredded Wheat Racing with Gallagher’s Tom Chilton took victory in the final race in his mountune powered #3 Ford Focus RS, so hopes were understandably high ahead of the weekend, with Tom eventually proving his pace once again, qualifying in P4.

Race 1 saw some action with Chilton battling for a podium spot, getting up to third place on lap 9 before running wide at the hairpin dropped him back down the grid, eventually crossing the line in a respectable P7.

Lots of on-track drama ensued in Race 2, luckily not involving any of the mountune powered Focus RS’s. Chilton drove a solid race, climbing the grid from his starting position and added more points to the table finishing in P5.

The final race of the day saw more thrills and yet again more collisions and a safety car being deployed on lap 14 . The Team Shredded Wheat Racing with Gallagher team opted for Medium tyres for the final round of the Fife circuit weekend and Chilton again did well amid the chaos to maintain his position, claiming his second P5 of the day.

All in all a great round for Chilton and the team with a hat-trick of top 7 finishes and plenty of championship points gained. After this round, Tom sits in 10thplace overall and 3rd in the Independent Drivers standings, with Team Shredded Wheat Racing with Gallagher also currently sitting in 3rd in the Independent teams table.

The penultimate round of the BTCC is next, as the teams head to Silverstone on the 28-29 September, a circuit that's historically been a good hunting ground for the mountune-powered Motorbase squad, so expectations and hopes will both be in equally high measure.
