MR230 (mTune only)


This option is for customers who wish to upgrade to MR230 using an mTune and who fall into one of the following three categories:

• MP215 customers who have all the required hardware installed for MR230 but require an mTune and MR230 calibration.

• MT215 customers who have all the required MR230 hardware (including an mTune) but require an in-field firmware update to their existing handset.
In-field firmware updates are facilitated via a bespoke upgrade key. Once ordered we will send you steps to follow in order for you to provide us with your specific mTune serial number. A key will then be generated and sent to you which will enable you to update your mTune's firmware using the AP Manager software.

• Customers running all the required MR230 hardware but using standard software, requiring mTune with MR230 calibration.

• mountune induction kit
• mountune high-flow induction hose
• mountune charge pipe upgrade kit
• mountune downpipe / sportscat
• mountune cat-back exhaust 
• Optimised cam timing (via mountune timing tool - included)

Please note: Installing the MR230 calibration without the correct hardware list above may result in failure to make the quoted power / torque figures, abnormal running, detrimental fuel consumption or engine warning light illumination or in extreme circumstances, damage and / or failure to the engine. In any such instance no warranty is offered or implied by mountune.

MR230 Performance Upgrade

I had this fitted as a performance upgrade from the MR 215 package, and whilst the cost on paper seems expensive for just another around 15 bhp. The performance increase is astonishing Mountune have found in the re-map a significant increase in torque over the MR 215 package. Which transmits to the road to make a very quick car. I would recommend along with upgrading the brakes that if purchasing this package the buyer also considers the Quaife ATB differential upgrade otherwise torque steer will become problematic particularly in the wet. Ford never made an RS version of the MK 7.5 Fiesta ST but, and only in my opinion this package with added spring lowering kit is the closest to what it would have been as an overall drivers package had the Ford Factory produced one. I know more powerful possibilities exist but frankly unless you want to track race its not necessary this package is more than enough. Mountune fitted most of this for me and remain highly recommended with excellent service from Fred Jay and the team with reasonable costs. Nigel C

Having MP215 from new, I always planned on going straight to MR265 once any initial teething problems had been ironed out. Unfortunately this did not happen due to MR265 being removed :-( Disappointed at the removal in the end decided to stick with Mountune MR230 instead and i'm glad I did! After initial issues booking my car in to Mountune HQ and with less than a week before leaving the country, Fred managed to book me in at short notice to have the remaining work (cam timing, parts check and map) carried out. I was greeted by Ryan who kept me informed of the progress throughout as I waited in the well stocked lounge area. As for the most important aspect, the drive.... I did not review this when I initially purchased it as to do so (based on a simple drive up a motorway in traffic and a drive on a rain soaked 'A' road) would have been false. Instead I waited until my return to the UK and a chance to drive the car for a month or two before commenting. Firstly, 1st & 2nd gears have come alive, slow speed driving which was previously unrefined, now felt smoother. Secondly, power delivery is smooth thought the range but with a huge increases in torque... (especially after 2500 rpm) with the car currently able to loose traction on full throttle in third!! With the conditions still being quite cool and damp as I write this review I still have not managed to get the full potential from the car, and look forward to the coming warmer months Would I recommend MR230?? **** Yes!!!!

MR230 Tune

Well, I had this car delivered from Ford with the MP215 fitted, and thought it went a lot better than the stock Fiesta ST the wife and I test drove. It was going to get a little loving with "extras" from the start. After gradually fitting all the hardware for the MR230 Tune, I took it to a mechanic in Canberra that was recommended to me, and the CAM adjustment was made, and the tune was loaded What a difference, I though this car was good with the MP215, WOW, more eager to rev, and pull in 1st and 2nd gear, more torque. What a car. This car has gone from great to awesome. I cant wait to get it into some twisty roads through our sothern highlands in NSW (australia). I did have a small problem as the car wouldnt initial start after loading the tune, but Fred and Amy at mountune were more than eager to help reslove it. I did in the end. Very simple process it turned out. Sad thing is, the wife has said "no more, unless its bling" I wonder if a roll restrictor is bling :-)
