The mountune m460D upgrade for the 2-litre Duratorq Mk3 Focus ST delivers a substantial improvement in performance and drivability, in an easy DIY kit.
The m460D kit includes an OBDII flashing cable, dongle, performance calibration and a mountune badge.
Peak power is increased to 200PS with torque boosted to 460Nm via the calibration, enough to make your Duratorq-powered Focus ST really come alive!
0-60mph is reduced from 8.1secs to 7.4secs, whilst Ford's standard in-gear testing from 31-62mph shows a 0.5sec improvement, from 6.9secs, to 6.4secs.
As you'd expect, together with enhancing drivability and performance, the m460D calibration also unlocks the potency of the Duratorq engine without adding excessive levels of smoke under acceleration. In addition, the correct DPF Regen strategy is still utilised, meaning reliable, safe performance is still assured.
The mountune m460D calibration is easily loaded using ECUTEK's ProECU flashing software and is updated using a laptop computer (not supplied, but required for installation).
Please Note: The warranty of the vehicle being updated with this upgrade may be affected. The m460D upgrade kit is not Ford-endorsed.
Only compatible with manual gearbox-equipped vehicle.
It does what it said on the box, easy to install, performance improvement noticeable, engine smoother and powers through a greater rev range, Montune team very helpful, always willing to support
Just recently bought my 2016 St diesel. I choose the diesel over the petrol as I travel over 400 miles a week. I was impressed with how it run and sounded standard, but I knew the car had alot more to offer. I decided to go down the Remap route. Having enquired about this with several different companies I decided to go to Mountune. The m460d didn't disspoint. The way the car drives now and how the power is delivered across the rev range is very impressive. Really happy with my purchase and I'd strongly recommend the m460d if your thinking of get abit more out of your ST diesel. Would also like to thank Mountune for the excellent customer services. Also I'd like to send a special thanks to Dan for his help.
I spent a few months researching into the best remap for my Focus ST diesel. There are companies out there with some big power gains and some with over exaggerated claims. In the past I have had 3 vehicles all with a remaps – some good and some terrible. For me I wanted something reliable to really smooth out the engine. I wasn’t looking to push the car over the limits to claim bragging rights about how many horses. If I wanted a pure power hot hatch I’d have gone for a petrol ST or even pushed for an RS. I wanted refinement and something to make the power more flexible. I decided with the Mountune 460D power upgrade. This decision was based purely on company reputation, company passion and the number of articles and reviews on the product as a whole. I’m glad I opted on this remap for the car. I went down the self service route of plugging a dongle into my OBD port with a laptop and loading the file onto the ECU myself. I am a computer programmer and computer savvy, however take your time and read the instructions first before doing anything. Familiarise yourself with what you’re doing before you commit. Now for the first test drive. From the initial off set I felt a difference. It felt better. The power pick up was noticeable but not intrusive. It just felt better to drive. A lot better. I took it on a mix of roads and once the oil had warmed really opened it up. The power delivery was so much more refined and really pulled throughout the rev range. The car felt more alive and had shaken off some of that OEM lumpy feeling. It wanted to go, and wasn’t going to punish you for making it go. The throttle response from the lower gears had also increased so it felt nice pulling away. You no longer feel like mashing the pedals, you can be a lot more relaxed with your footwork and take your time as the power is on hand ready to go. I’ve found downshifting a lot easier, and changing through the gear box is more of a pleasure, especially if you have a Mountune Gear knob. Overall I would recommend this product if you’re considering a remap for your ST Diesel. Don’t bother looking around – just go with something safe and reliable and reap the benefits after. After all torque is more fun than horses so with 460nm on hand it’s more than plenty. I don’t regret buying this in any way and glad I went down this route! Even now after 4 weeks of driving with it I am still happy with it…
