The profiled and detailed billet aluminium body utilises a pressed steel locating gear to ensure exact fitment and operating performance, whilst the billet steel counterweights ensure smooth and engaging shifts are maintained over the OE setup, despite significantly shortening the planes of gear-shift movement by a careful optimised 20%, both side-to-side and front to back.
In addition, the mountune short shifter is also supplied as standard with billet cable ends, removing the factory part and providing a reduction in play and an improved, more precise feeling when changing gear.

United KingdomFirstly I just want to say WOW! This is an amazing product. It has made a massive impact on the way the entire shift mechanism feels! Would I recommend the M52..... YES. Yes I sure would. I have been scouring the internet for a while now for a short shift kit and there's loads out there to compete with. I settled with the M52 and let me tell you, I am not disappointed at all. With this kit you get it all. Its all in one box, you don't have to buy each component separately which can add up to a hefty amount. Having the end cable inserts is a massive benefit as one of mine had one of the feet missing so this was a massive positive for me personally. The price of the M52 in my opinion is perfect, its sort of mid range price but a very very high quality product. Bang for buck is what it is. Some of the other leading suppliers are twice the price of the M52. It didn't take long before the product arrived. It was packaged very well. All the screws, pins, counter weights came in their own packaging bag and included bubble wrap on the heavier items. After inspecting the quality of the components in the box, I was very pleased to find that there was no damage to any of the parts. Everything was there, nothing missing which is always a bonus when your buying modifications. Fitting the M52 is an easy job that took about 45 minutes. If your thinking of upgrading your factory 02Q MQ350 Factory Shifter to the M52 then do not be scared to attempt this yourself. You don't need an extensive array of tools to complete this task. There is a downloadable fitting guide if you get stuck with it but its very straight forward process. One thing that is not in the box is grease so don't start this job without it, as we all know on moving parts then the grease is a requirement. After installing the M52 kit, took the car for a test drive and the difference is night and day. No its not a massive difference but its enough and I am very impressed with how the shifting now feels compared to the OEM shifter. Installed on my 2.0 TSI Skoda Octavia vRS but also fits plenty of other MQB cars. I will say it again and I will tell anyone who is interested in a Short Shift Kit to buy the M52. Definitely recommend this kit 100% It looks great and it feels amazing to operate.

United KingdomMade a massive improvement to feel, shifting and downshifting, effortless and smooth, lot less of a throw and side to sdie movement compare to the oem one. Fitting was fairly straight forward and easy, apart from the original unit being tight to get off. I would definitely recommend buying this short shifter quality piece of kit.
United KingdomI had been looking into purchasing a short-shift kit for my S3, and had been doing some research into the different options available. Besides the front to rear shortening, which many kits offer, it is also possible to reduce the side to side action as well with secondary kits, plus you can buy billet bushings for the cable connections to reduce some more of the play in the shift action. Landing on the M52 page I saw that here was a kit which seemed to have everything included. The price initially was a little off-putting, but I liked the fact it was a complete solution, so I bit the bullet. The kit arrived quickly afterwards (thanks guys!) and I was extremely impressed with the packaging and the quality of the components. After downloading the instruction sheet I got started. Besides a slight problem removing the old unit from the splined gearbox rod, it all went together beautifully and everything you need (besides some grease to lubricate the moving parts) is included. I have to say, it's a shame the kit is hidden away under the airbox, because it looks brilliant and the result is absolutely perfect. Not a super short action (which I didn't want), the 20% reduction in all planes plus the nice direct feel to shifts has resulted in a really satisfying gear-change. If you are thinking about this modification for your GTI/vRS/R/Cupra or S3 and can spend that little bit more, don't hesitate to give this kit a look in.
