Two victories for Deagen Fairclough and a maiden GB3 win for Rowan Campbell Pilling headlined another action packed weekend for the mountune powered GB3 grid at Donington Park.
The GB3 Championship returned to Donington Park for three races across 5 and 6 September, with close qualifying, wheel to wheel racing and three hard fought victories across the weekend.
With every car on the GB3 grid powered by mountune, the weekend once again put the championship's closely matched machinery to the test.
BEDRIN AND FAIRCLOUGH TRADE POLES
Saturday morning qualifying immediately set the tone.
Championship leader Nikita Bedrin secured Race 1 pole for VRD Racing with a 1m20.324s lap, beating Hitech's Deagen Fairclough by just 0.056 seconds. Martin Molnar was third for Rodin Motorsport, ahead of Abbi Pulling and Maxim Rehm.
Fairclough responded in the second qualifying session. Despite 2 red flag interruptions, he produced a 1m20.107s lap to secure pole for Race 2, 0.069 seconds ahead of Bedrin. Molnar once again qualified third, while Leon Wilson secured his best GB3 qualifying result with fourth.
FAIRCLOUGH STRIKES FIRST
Starting alongside Bedrin for Race 1, Fairclough wasted little time making his move.
The Hitech driver went around the outside of Bedrin at Redgate on the opening lap to take the lead, but the championship leader remained close throughout the race. The pair went wheel to wheel several times during the closing stages, with Bedrin repeatedly looking for a way back ahead.
Fairclough held firm to take the chequered flag just 0.317 seconds ahead of Bedrin, securing his fourth victory of the season. Abbi Pulling completed the podium for Rodin Motorsport, with teammate Martin Molnar fourth and Lucas Fluxa fifth.
TWO FROM TWO
Fairclough started Race 2 from pole on Sunday morning and converted it into a second victory of the weekend.
Bedrin's challenge came to an early end after the championship leader spun into the barriers at the Fogarty Esses on the opening lap, recording his first retirement of the season. Fairclough was then able to control the race through a further safety car period and take his fifth win of 2026.
Behind him, Leon Wilson produced a strong drive to secure second for Arden Motorsport, resisting pressure from Martin Molnar, who completed the podium in third. Lucas Fluxa finished fourth, ahead of Patricio Gonzalez and Maxim Rehm.
For Fairclough, it completed his second double victory weekend of the season and continued a strong run of form in the championship.
A MAIDEN WIN FOR CAMPBELL PILLING
The final race of the weekend produced a different winner and one of Donington's standout performances.
Local driver Rowan Campbell Pilling launched from third on the grid to take the lead at Redgate on the opening lap. What followed was a close battle involving Kyuho Lee, Abbi Pulling and Peter Bouzinelos, with Campbell Pilling briefly losing the lead before fighting his way back ahead exiting Goddards.
Bouzinelos eventually moved into second and kept the Xcel Motorsport driver under pressure, but Campbell Pilling held on to claim his first GB3 victory by 0.701 seconds at his home circuit. Pulling completed the podium in third, earning her second top 3 finish of the weekend.
Fairclough rounded out an impressive weekend of his own by climbing from 12th on the grid to finish fifth.
MOUNTUNE POWER ACROSS THE GRID
From a qualifying battle separated by hundredths of a second to three fiercely contested races, Donington Park delivered another competitive weekend for GB3.
Fairclough left with 2 victories, Campbell Pilling celebrated his first win in the championship and the weekend produced podium finishes for drivers representing several different teams.
With mountune power behind every car on the GB3 grid, the championship now heads into its closing stages with plenty still to play for.
