Deagen Fairclough delivered his strongest weekend of the 2026 GB3 Championship season at Silverstone, taking two victories before Hitech teammate Jacob Micallef completed a clean sweep for the team with a dramatic win in the final race.
Fairclough arrived at Silverstone showing strong pace and carried that form throughout the weekend, claiming both pole positions before converting them into victories in the opening two races.
Fairclough sets the pace
Having topped Friday testing, Fairclough continued his form into Saturday qualifying.
The Hitech driver secured his first GB3 pole position with a 1m50.112s lap in the opening session, finishing 0.182 seconds clear of Rodin Motorsport’s Martin Molnar. Lucas Fluxa was third fastest ahead of Abbi Pulling, Rowan Campbell Pilling and Flynn Jackes.
Fairclough went quicker again in the second session. Campbell Pilling looked set to claim pole before a final lap from Fairclough produced a 1m49.714s, putting him 0.141 seconds clear and securing pole for Sunday’s second race.
Victory in race one
Fairclough made a strong start from pole in Saturday’s opening race, establishing an immediate advantage before an early safety car neutralised proceedings.
At the restart, Molnar closed in and found a way past at Brooklands to take the lead. Fairclough responded less than a lap later, braking late into Vale to reclaim the position.
From there, Fairclough controlled the gap and crossed the line 0.758 seconds ahead of Molnar to secure his second victory of the season and third in GB3.
Campbell Pilling completed the podium, with Jackes fourth ahead of Maxim Rehm and Pulling.
Fairclough doubles up
Starting Sunday’s second race from pole, Fairclough again made a strong getaway and established an early advantage.
Campbell Pilling remained close throughout the 25 minute contest but was unable to find an opportunity to challenge for the lead. Fairclough held firm to complete his second lights to flag victory of the weekend, taking the chequered flag just under a second ahead.
Campbell Pilling finished second, while teammate Fluxa secured third and his fifth podium from seven races. Molnar took fourth ahead of championship leader Nikita Bedrin and Rehm.
The result completed an exceptional weekend for Fairclough, with two pole positions and two victories moving him to sixth in the championship standings.
Micallef completes the Hitech clean sweep
The reverse grid finale produced the most dramatic racing of the weekend.
Edu Robinson started from pole, but Rodrigo Gonzalez moved ahead at the start and led for much of the race. The battle intensified in the closing stages as Robinson attempted to reclaim the position before Micallef joined the fight.
After passing Leon Wilson around the outside at Abbey, Micallef moved ahead of Robinson through Maggotts and Becketts to take second.
The decisive move came on the final lap. A strong exit from Aintree allowed Micallef to close on Gonzalez along the Wellington Straight before sweeping around the outside at Brooklands with just two corners remaining.
Micallef crossed the line only 0.176 seconds ahead to secure his first GB3 victory and become the first Maltese driver to win a major single seater race.
Gonzalez took second and his first GB3 podium, with Robinson completing the top three on his debut weekend.
Bedrin maintains championship advantage
Despite missing the podium for the first time in his GB3 career, Nikita Bedrin leaves Silverstone with a commanding championship advantage.
The VRD Racing driver leads the standings with 363 points, 103 clear of Molnar on 260. Fluxa sits third with 249 points ahead of Rehm on 237.
For Hitech, Silverstone represented a standout weekend. Fairclough’s double victory and Micallef’s dramatic finale ensured the team won all three races across the mountune powered GB3 grid.
The championship continues at Donington Park in September.
