A victory on his GB4 debut weekend for Steven Heydens joined wins for Fred Green and Josh McLean as the mountune powered GB4 grid took on Donington Park.
The GB4 Championship returned to Donington Park on 5 and 6 September, with a 28 car field taking on three races across the weekend.
With mountune power behind the entire GB4 grid, the weekend produced three different winners and plenty of action as the championship moved closer to its season finale.
DOUBLE POLE ON DEBUT
Steven Heydens made an immediate impression on his first GB4 weekend.
Standing in for Elite Motorsport, the Belgian secured pole position for both of the opening races. His 1m27.990s lap put him 0.372 seconds clear of teammate Fred Green for Race 1, with championship leader Alex O'Grady third.
The second fastest laps set the grid for Race 2, with Heydens again leading Green, this time by 0.211 seconds. Torrin Byrne secured third ahead of O'Grady and Thomas Ingram Hill.
GREEN STRIKES FIRST
Heydens started Race 1 from pole, but a slower getaway allowed Green and O'Grady through.
Green established himself at the front before a mid race safety car brought the field back together. He controlled the restart and held off O'Grady to claim his fourth victory of the season by 0.774 seconds.
Heydens recovered to complete the podium in third, ahead of Enzo Hallman and Dayton Coulthard.
HEYDENS CONVERTS POLE INTO VICTORY
Race 2 gave Heydens another opportunity from the front of the grid, and this time he made it count.
A strong start kept the Elite Motorsport driver ahead, but two safety car periods, multiple yellow flags and pressure from teammate Green meant there was little opportunity to relax. Through it all, Heydens remained in control to claim victory on his maiden GB4 weekend.
He crossed the line just 0.334 seconds ahead of Green, completing an Elite Motorsport 1 2, with Hallman taking third. Byrne and Ingram Hill completed the top five, while championship leader O'Grady finished sixth.
MCLEAN CLOSES THE WEEKEND WITH A WIN
The reverse grid Race 3 produced the third different winner of the weekend, as Josh McLean started from pole and controlled the race to secure his fourth victory of the season.
Conor Grant made a strong start from fourth to move into second on the opening lap, before the first of two safety car periods interrupted proceedings. With limited green flag running remaining after the second safety car, the race finished under caution with McLean taking the victory.
Grant finished second, while John O'Donnell secured his maiden GB4 podium in third. Heydens climbed from ninth on the grid to sixth, completing an impressive debut weekend that included two pole positions, a victory and a third place finish.
MOUNTUNE POWER ACROSS THE GRID
Three races produced three different winners at Donington, with Green, Heydens and McLean each taking their turn at the front.
The results also set up a close championship finale. O'Grady left Donington with a 49 point advantage, but with 102 points still available at Brands Hatch, five drivers remained mathematically in contention for the 2026 title.
With mountune power behind the entire GB4 grid, attention now turns to Brands Hatch for the final three races of the season.
