Ash Sutton makes BTCC history as NAPA Racing UK secures the Teams’ Championship and Alliance Racing/Ford wraps up the Manufacturers’ and Constructors’ title.
Silverstone delivered a landmark weekend for NAPA Racing UK, with three 2026 British Touring Car Championship titles secured and Ash Sutton becoming the first driver in the championship’s history to win five Drivers’ titles.
Sutton arrived at the penultimate weekend of the season with the opportunity to make history. After Race 1 left the championship undecided, the NAPA Racing UK driver started Race 2 from 12th on the grid needing just a single point to secure the crown.
He did considerably more than that.
Sutton worked his way through the field and was at the front by lap 9, going on to take his ninth victory of the season and the 56th BTCC win of his career. The result put the Drivers’ Championship beyond reach with three races still remaining and moved Sutton clear of four time champions Andy Rouse and Colin Turkington in the record books.
The newly crowned champion was back on the podium in a wet Race 3, charging from ninth to finish second and completing a memorable day at Silverstone.

Sutton’s Drivers’ title was only part of the story for NAPA Racing UK.
The results at Silverstone also put NAPA Racing UK into an unassailable lead in the Teams’ Championship, while Alliance Racing/Ford secured the Manufacturers’ and Constructors’ Championship.
That makes it three major 2026 BTCC titles secured in one weekend for the mountune powered programme:
Drivers’ Championship, Ash Sutton
Teams’ Championship, NAPA Racing UK
Manufacturers’ and Constructors’ Championship, Alliance Racing/Ford
All four NAPA Racing UK Ford Focus Titaniums continue to run with mountune developed race engines.
A TEAM EFFORT
While Sutton understandably took the headlines, there was more valuable work across the NAPA Racing UK team.
Dan Cammish recovered from a difficult opening race to finish sixth in Race 2 before going one better with fifth in the wet Silverstone finale. Lewis Selby and Sam Osborne completed the four car NAPA Racing UK effort across another demanding BTCC weekend.
For Cammish, there is still plenty to fight for. He heads to the season finale sitting second in the Drivers’ Championship, giving NAPA Racing UK the opportunity to complete the year with a 1 and 2 in the Drivers’ standings.
ONE ROUND REMAINS
The championship now heads to the Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit on 10 and 11 October for the final three races of the season.
Three titles may already be secured, but the job is not finished.
With Sutton confirmed as the 2026 champion and Cammish fighting to retain second, the focus now turns to closing the season with both NAPA Racing UK drivers at the top of the Drivers’ Championship.
