A shorter, crisper shifter throw provides a positive driving experience with the mk3 Focus. After considerable evaluation and input, mountune engineers determined the optimum throw reduction for the mk3 Focus shifter to be at 25%.
This amount allows an enhanced driving experience, whilst maintaining an OE quality and feel, with minimal stress on the OE shift cables and components.

Fitted and test driven in less than an hour: noticeable reduction in gear-stick travel which I expect would be more noticeable when you are moving through the gears quicker than on a usual town drive; so good for track use. I watched a few You Tube videos re how to fit; they were a big help so recommend doing that. The pin on the arm was straight forward to remove using the tool provided; arm swapped and reconnect within 10 mins. I struggled with the airbag the most but only as I hadn’t removed it before and didn’t want to damage anything. In essence, watch the vids and all should be fine. Gear selection on my car has always been rather notchy. Fords say it’s fine. It’s still somewhat notchy but does now have less travel which helps make it feel a more definitive selection. Thoroughly recommend this. Very impressed with Mountune; it does what the reviews say.
Easy to fit, nicely made and weighted, reduces the shift noticeably, also nice and smooth when in use. A good upgrade, highly recommended.
Really nice quality part that gives a good feel to shifting through the gears. The hardest part of the install is removing and inserting the retaining pin - be careful as I managed to break the reverse light switch that sits below the shifter arm, by hitting it with a hammer. You also don’t need to take the air box unit apart, once it’s disconnected the entire box can lift out as one part.
