The mountune high-performance Golf R brake pad range has been developed for owners looking for the ultimate in braking performance whilst retaining their OE braking setup.
The aramid fibre-based pad compound used provides excellent initial bite from cold, which improves further with subsequent use as the heat builds up, offering enhanced performance and resistance to brake fade upto 700ºC.
The compound used also produces minimal dust and maintains an OE-like level of noise, so is perfectly suited to daily use without any compromise.
Improved braking performance
Resistance to brake fade up to 700ºC
Low dust / noise output
Suitable for fast road / track day use
Direct swap for OE pad
ECE R90 approved
Perfectly matched to mountune grooved disc upgrade
The following steps should be followed to correctly ‘bed-in’ your new brakes.
Brake pad/ disc replacement will initially reduce your vehicle's braking performance until fully ‘bedded’ in.
Step 1 - Gently drive approximately 250 urban miles (not motorway miles where brakes are used less) to allow the pads to coat the surface and establish full contact with the disc face.
Step 2 - Ensuring it is safe and legal to do so, perform 8 stops from 70mph to 30mph at 300-yard intervals followed by coasting to allow the brakes to cool.
Discs / pads can take up to 1200 miles to fully bed in, during which time it is perfectly normal to experience a degree of smoke, odour or squeal.
