The mountune uprated turbo re-circulating valve is a direct replacement for the OE component.
Machined from solid aluminium with a piston-type design (compared to the OE diaphragm) the more robust design and material are suitable for vehicles in advanced state of tune.
A diaphragm-design recirculation valve could function less effectively when the pressure differential across the turbocharger compressor housing is increased above the original operating conditions. This can cause the valve to open prematurely, leading to possible turbocharger damage due to increased turbo shaft speed.
mountune's engineers have designed an uprated, more robust valve, that features a metal piston and rubber sealing system. This design also features an uprated spring that improves sealing pressure, which allows the valve to remain closed under high pressure conditions.
This product is compatible with mk2 Focus RS, mk2 Focus ST and mk3 Focus ST.

Nothing wrong with the old OEM one as far as I knew, but bought this one on an offer. My MK2 RS is stock and only has 25k on the clock, so wasn’t sure what to expect. Recently fitted and the boost seems a little stronger and the annoying squeaking / wheezing noise from the OEM part at low boost level has gone. Well worth it and now considering a roll restrictor and exhaust!
